It's worth clarifying what usernames and passwords we use, so that you can be sure you're using the right credentials in the right context. There are two aspects to our service: 

  1. Our Power-T.38 SIP trunks
  2. Our customer self-service portal
It's posible to have usernames and passwords for each of these, and it's important to use the right one!

Our SIP trunks support both IP address-based authentication and username/password-based authentication. If you don't know which one is right for you, we recommend you stick with our default, which is username/password based. When you sign up for an account with us we will provide you with a (mandatory) billing telephone number (BTN). This BTN will be your primary fax number, and it will also be your SIP Username. Your SIP Password will appear next to your username in most communications from us - it will be a long, cryptic string like HxrRlm5KBwDadpx4. It's possible to change this password via our web portal (more about that in a moment) but we recommend you keep it at least this long and cryptic. Ok, so what about IP address-based authentication? Well, as the name suggests, we use your public IP address(es) to authorize your incoming and outgoing calls and you have neither a username nor a password.

The second aspect to our service is our customer self care portal. We use your email address as your Web Portal Username, and provide you a similarly cryptic Web Portal Password there too.

Simple, right? Now all you have to do is make sure to keep your SIP credentials separate from your portal login credentials, and you should be all set!
